Isn’t it great how the spur-of-the-moment decisions often turn out to be the best ones? Lunch at Catch 22 in Table View, Cape Town, was one such decision. Have a look at my other reviews, and lots more on my blog- The Journal of Entertainment On a cold but slightly Saturday afternoon, we walked through the doors of this inviting seafood restaurant. Our waiter guided us towards the balcony where a few other patrons were enjoying the winter sun. The balcony is enclosed which means … no cigarette smoke! This is a huge positive for me. Drinks I ordered a Cosmopolitain (not my usual drink, I’m more of a margarita kind of a girl), and even though it took a little while, it was worth the wait. This means you’re spoilt for choice, which is why it’s a good thing the waiter was knowledgable and made good suggestions. [embed]https://www.instagram.com/p/BlvQkx6lqEI/[/embed] Hubby and I opted for the solemate platter (ZAR 274), which consists of prawns, hake, calamari, squid heads and mussels served with lemon butter / garlic butter / peri-peri sauce and a scrumptious baked potato. Garlic was our choice of the day. Everything was fresh and cooked to absolute perfection – definitely some of the best seafood I’ve tasted in the Mother City. On the waiter’s recommendation we shared the Hawaiian Mudslide – chocolate cake with molten chocolate lava on the inside, served with vanilla ice cream. #foodgasm. To sum up For me the Catch 22 experience definitely delivered value for money. With great food, friendly service, delicious drinks and consideration for non-smokers … who could ask for more?
